1970 Primary School Artwork

This sketchbook [if such it may be called] contains my earliest surviving artwork –from 1970

Bus and Bus Stop

NOTES:

My earliest surviving piece of artwork. Drawn on my first day at Primary School.

Bus and Bus Stop revisited.

NOTES:

Like all great artists, the young matulevicz lad was not afraid to revisit the same theme on more than one occasion.

Helicopter

NOTES:

Looks like a Chinook to me. Given the era, I’d probably seen similar on news footage about the Vietnam war, which would have been ongoing at the time. The British Army helicopters I’d have seen flying round Belfast at the time were only single rotor. So not as exciting for the young war artist.

Horse

NOTES:

As the caption says.

I’ve no idea why he has two red legs and two green ones

Purple Fishies

NOTES:

Even if I say so myself, this is a masterpiece. I think I’ll get it turned into a fabric pattern and make a suit out of it!
